| The way I intepret this song is him singing to an ex or just to himself in general about how his last relationship was a handful but that now he's falling in love with someone else. Still, he's afraid to considering what happened with his last relationship but he knows there's no stopping it. So in a way this song is about fustration and happiness about falling in love with someone else,being afraid to, but glad that you're finally able to move on. "The sweetness" is love. "No the sweetness will not be concerned with me." <- love won't get to me. | |

I honestly think this song i about sex. Not necessarily in a bad way, but about doing it with passion and not just lust. "We give each other all we know" you give eachother apart of yourself;everything you know. "in silence we still talk by the light of the stereo waltz." You're going at it while music is playing...your bodies are "talking" I guess you could say. "want to hold you like nothing's gonna stop us. and she come to take me away it' all that i needed i don' breathe another lover." You want to hold on to that person for dear life when you get to a certin point and you feel that's all you need. "I don't breathe another lover." You'd never do this with anyone else. "flicker on the tv screen everything's more than it seems." You're doing it while the tv's on but you're not paying much mind to it so you just see a flicker. "mighty backward fall stare at the light on the wall." (Not meaning this to be a perv) but "her" back arches as she has her head pointed to the ceiling so she looks at the light on the wall. "and i swear to this, she felt like velvet second blonde child she meant it." she felt like "velvet" against him and she wanted a "second blond child" assuming that they had a child previously and that when she said she wanted another kid she meant it. "i'm an alien you're an alien it' a beautiful rain" He's in a swoon. My interpretation isn't meant to be pervy, I honestly think it's about being passionate with someone not just lusty. That's the message I got when I first read the lyrics. |
