There is no meaning to this song, except exactly what is said in the song. It's pathetic and just goes to show you that some people don't take music seriously. |

| System of a Down – Tentative Lyrics

I think this song is about the truth of corruption. We live in a world where no one is accepted for how they feel or what they believe in. Daron seems to be hinting on the fact that God is most likely sickened by the thought that we take other people's belief and, literally, attack them in physical ways. That's how wars start. It's all arguments with origin over beliefs of the unknown, and it's messed up in countless ways. War is a joke, and there's no point to it. Go ahead and say what you want, but it NEVER does anything to benefit society in any way. It just makes people develop more hatred towards one another, eventually leading to the inevitable outcome of war. Iraq never did anything to us, and yet we thrive on the fact that our society differs from them, and we therefore bomb them. Why? |

If I'm not mistaken, "The Somatic Defilement" was their debut album, right? I think this was really just their introduction into the world of awesome metal. I see it as an explanation to the bands' name, of course in reference to Jack the Ripper. It's really a self-explanatory song, in my opinion. I don't see any kind of "hidden" meaning in it, though it is possible that it may have been some kind of opposing message about how fucked up this world really is, and that anyone that has such a mind doesn't deserve to be a part of this world. |

I agree with the majority of you guys. This song is about how much in love Billie Joe was. It's that whole sensation of being able to hear her laugh and see her smile, regardless of where in the world she is. So in a way, it's really showing that long distance relationships can work if it's truly meant to be. Great song by a historical band, in my opinion. |

| Smash Mouth – I Just Wanna See Lyrics

I think it is about stopping and kind of just reminding yourself that this is a WORLD that we are living in, not some crazed media-run business that it appears to be on the outside. We all need to kind of just mellow out once in a while and enjoy that natural beauty of what really surrounds us, rather than getting into the whole craziness of being successful in a corrupt society. I think this is a song that every band needs to listen to for inspiration, actually. Too often bands sit down and "force" some lyrics onto a page that they think will be successful, when in reality, they should let it all be natural and flowing. |
