| The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think it has a lot of deal with how people will never connect in anyone's ideas fully, as human, no one could ever connect to everyone's thoughts or feelings. I think John is saying "No one I think is in my tree." Meaning that no one could be in the same thoughts as his. "It must be high or low" Means that whatever this means that it's either good or bad, that you "can't tune in..but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad" That's just my thoughts. | |

| I agree.. Picking a favorite Beatles' song is like being a mother and picking a favorite child.. :) | |
| The Beatles – Fixing a Hole Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm not sure any Beatles' song is written ABOUT drugs.. I think maybe under the influence most likely.. But, none about drugs. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, as said many times by John himself, said it was about a painting his son, Juilian drew. He thought it was beautiful and wrote a song about it. Maybe, the element of his psychedelic drug use made it a bit trippier.. But, it was the 60's and 70's.. LSD wasn't illegal until the 70's or so.. The only song I can guess by the Beatles' that is about drugs is Day Tripper.. But, still I'm not sure. | |

(This is just my interpretation..) it's a sight to behold when you got small words to mold and you can make 'em your own (I think he is talking about how amazing it is when you have a little of something, but you are able to make them so meaningful or important.. Such as the word 'love' is only a four letter word, but you make your own love, into something so meaningful. In this case, I believe he is talking about how love is a small word, and you can never justify a feeling into a small word. I know in my experiences with love and the sort, it is very hard to put a feeling into word, such as every feeling, is always described with a word, but is very fully defined. Love, is one of the purest feelings, and you find or make it your own, no one shares the same love you do.) still love it would be much better love it would be much better i'm told (I think he realizes that what he thought once was 'love' is really nothing to what it actually is. He is told that "love it would be much better" which is true because nothing will compare to that feeling once you've experienced it.) it's like golden corn and i love its golden glow it's the little head inside your little hole and out spring some sparkling thoughts (I think in this verse, he is relating love to something very hard to find, such as 'golden corn,' and he/she loves the 'golden glow' of love, the way it makes them feel. Maybe this 'lover' of his, wasn't true to what she/he felt towards the narrator, "It's the little head inside your little hole," could be a crude relation to sex and creation of a baby, "out spring some sparkling thoughts," but i believe that his lovers 'head' is their 'heart' that should be there, but it is just a 'hole,' nothing is there. The narrator knows this and his 'sparkling thoughts' are about love/loving this person, but there is just nothing there.) still love it would be much better love it would be much better love it would be much better love it would be much better (He is going over what he is told about this relationship with his 'lover' and he realizes that even though he/she feels that they are in love, he knows the opposite because love is supposed to be shared and not only a singular feeling from one person.) it's like finding home in an old folk song that you've never ever heard still you know every word and for sure you can sing along (I believe this part is hearing a song and being able to relate to it in every single way. Maybe, this song is trying to play that role.) but love it would be much better love it would be much better love it would be much better love it would be much better i know, i know (He/she feels that even though they have everything they have, 'from the small words to mold, the golden glow, the old folk song,' the narrator still understands that 'love would be much better,' than whatever he/she is experiencing.) Once again, that is just my interpretation. Devendra Banhart is an amazing writer. This song could be about anything. |

| Devendra Banhart – Mama Wolf Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree with Suclid003. Once, when I ate wild fungus in the woods, I realized that all people and things are derived from nature, everything. I once heard Devendra say this in an interview. Maybe this is what he is trying to do with this song, with the exception of turning Mother Earth into Mama Wolf. I'm not sure. | |
