Panic! at the Disco – Northern Downpour Lyrics 16 years ago
"I missed your skin when you were east. You clicked your heels and wished for me."

This lyric means, to me, that two people who loved one another had to be seperated for a long time and really missed each other.

To me, this line can also be interpreted for the war in Iraq. "I missed your skin when you were east" (like, the middle east.) "You clicked your heels and wished for me." As in, a soldier misses his family and wants to go home.

"Hey moon, please forget to fall down.
Hey moon, don't you go down."

This could mean that you're having such a good time with someone you love that you don't want it to end.

"If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed, then we should feed our jewlery to the sea. For diamonds do appear to be just like broken glass to me."

To me, this lyric means that life's too short to worry about money or extreme wealth, or riches, because in the end it doesn't measure up to anything. It's worthless. (For diamonds do appear to be just like broken glass to me.)

"Through playful lips made of yarn
That fragile Capricorn
Unravelled words like moths upon old scarves"

That fragile Capricorn could be a girl who was a Capricorn, and was fragile. The Amelia Badelias of the world may interpret it to be the actual constellation...

"Unravelled words like moths upon old scarves" Moths eat wool, so the scarves would unravel when they got at them. Unravelled words...that's a tricky one.

"I know the world's a broken bone, but melt your headaches, call it home."

I don't think this is a "just deal with it" line, like someone said above, but a more positive one. It means that the world, or life, can be pretty challenging sometimes, but you should always try to focus on the positive in it, and make the best of the time you're given.

However, if you really want to be negative, "The world's fucked up, but there's absolutely nothing we can do about it, *emo* *emo* *slice*"

I like the first one.

Taylor Swift – I'm Only Me When I'm with You Lyrics 16 years ago
Frankly, I don't really like Taylor Swift, and here's why.

1. All of her songs are about the same thing. I mean really? Every one of her songs is about some sort of relationship, whether it be "perfect" or "forbidden" or "post-breakup". Taylor Swift is in this little box and can't come out.

2. This song in particular can be interpreted several ways (lover, friend, family) but the way she wrote it makes it sound like a boyfriend. Naturally. That, combined with the title, "I'm Only Me if I'm With You" makes her sound like some co-dependent, little girl who can't survive without a man in her life.

3. And has anyone heard her sing live? She SUCKS. My PINKIE is a better musician than Taylor Swift.

It's really not a hard concept. When he says
"Don't give up.
It's just the weight of the world."

he doesn't mean literally, that you're standing beneath the world carrying it around. He means that if you're in a really shitty situation and you want to throw in the towel, don't. It'll pass. You'll get through it. Everything will work out in the end.

Well, that's just it - if people want to interpret it to be about or from God, that's their call. If people want to think this song's about purple unicorns, they can. That's the beauty of Josh Gorban's music, anyone can listen to it and be pleased.

Yeah, I think the meaning is pretty self-explanatory, but as far as "who's singing it" is up for grabs. What I like about Josh Groban is that his songs all have positive meanings and can be interpreted by anyone. This song could be sung from God, or just someome who will be there for you in a situation. I like to interpret it both ways, but especially from God. :] GO GOD! <3

Interpol – PDA Lyrics 16 years ago
The chorus reminds me of when you're at a party or something and you drink too much and you just sleep where you fall. If the song IS about a relationship gone sour, the chorus could signify that he still has feelings for her, and anytime she wants to come back she can. The "We have 200 hundred couches where you can sleep tight..." could mean his willingness to have her back.

I'm pretty sure he's saying

Sleep tonight
(Simpleton)
Sleep tonight
(You're a simpleton)
Sleep tonight
(Get out and follow)
Sleep tonight
(What the hell)

Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics 16 years ago
I personally don't like this song, and it's not because Ben is tone deaf, or I hate the rhythm - but the meaning bugs the hell out of me.
Twilight has the same general concept: Let me dump everything in my life, including God, so I can off myself if my boyfriend/girlfriend of three weeks dies. Because I am SO IN LUUUUUURVE!!!1111! The relationship Ben Whats-His-Face is trying to portray in this song probably goes a lot deeper, but it's just the general vibe I get from the song.
And the song gets me mad at Catholics. (I'm Christian, but sometimes I feel the Catholic Church is waaay fucked up.) They interpret things from the Bible so...wrong. When God tells us to "fear" Him, he doesn't mean shit our pants and hide from Him (such as the Amelia Badelias of the Christian faith, the Quakers, did) He means to respect and honor Him. He's a parent. And it gets me angry at the Catholic Church because they've got mis-guided individuals hating God because of THEIR mistakes.
