HIM – Killing Loneliness Lyrics 16 years ago
I wouldn't say the new love erased his old love. In the line "Memories sharp as daggers
Pierce into the flesh of today" he says that his old love has scarred him terribly. He would never forget what had happened in this love. He also says how solitude begs them (possibly referring to him and his new love he encountered) to stay with it. This possible refers to how a part of his mind tells him to not take another chance with a love and stay in a state of loneliness.

HIM – Killing Loneliness Lyrics 16 years ago
Yea, he talks about how his lost love scarred him especially when he starts by saying "Memories sharp as daggers/Pierce into the flesh of today." The memories are obviously referring to the memories of his old love that he had lost. "The suicide of love took away all that matters/And buried the remains in an unmarked grave in your heart" means that once his old love ended, he had lost it all into another woman. "With the venomous kiss you gave me, I'm killing loneliness..." This line is repeated throughout the song saying that his new love forced the solitary state that he's in to be removed.
