He grew up Christian and his dad was a minister too. I guess after he grew up he started questioning his faith vs. science. It doesn't have any romantic issues at all; "I want to be next to you" is not romanticism at all...love for a person and for God is different. I think he just wants to believe that's what the point of that line is. This song is just questioning his beliefs. He wants to believe but idk maybe he doesn't want to be let down? |
