i think that people have missed a huge key component in all of this. watch the video closely, especially the very beginning where it says, "I am Jack's recrut" for anyone that has seen the movie fight club, it should have put two and two together. the movie is all about how nothing is what it seems. if you watch the video and listen closley to the words you will understand. the song is trying to stress that nothing really is what it seems. |

i love this song. it says some many things. sadly, this song makes me think of myself. i cannot resist a good conflict, i love to argue. i also always seem to find myself in the middle of everyone's drama, whether i want to be or not. though, i don't ever start the drama. sigh. trapt is amazing. amazing song, amazing lyrics, amazing band. |

I cannot believe not one single person as taken the time to comment on this song. Holy shit. I read somewhere that this sounded a lot like Breaking Benjamin, and thinking about it, the opening really does. I love both bands, so it's all good. I must say that I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. Seriously, Trapt is amazing. This si a very powerful song. To me he is talking about all those there have been trying to make everyone else happy while they have been suffering because they feel as though they can't be who that want to be. He's telling them to take a stand and do what they need to do to make themselves happy. That they need to stop trying to please everyone else. Seriously a powerful song. They never fail to amaze me. |

The first time I actually sat down and listened to this song, my step Dad was overseas. I played it for my mom and thought she was going to lose it. She told him about one night while they we chatting via webcam and I thought he was going to lose it. 22 days from now, my boyfriend leaves for basic training he won't be back until late November, then he leaves again for almost a year. I never quite grasped how hard it would be to watch someone you love go away for so long. So, in a lot of ways, this song makes me think of him. Sadly, he isn't even gone yet. Just one of those things you don't focus on until the day finally comes. All in all, this song makes he think that Tyler Connelly was reaching out to those who are far away from their loved ones. Whether it be him on tour or any other band on tour and away from their families or those of us who have loved ones away fighting for our Country. It truly is a master piece, a well written/sung way for those who just can't find the words to describe how much they miss someone. A touching song. Very, very touching. |

When he says "I will end where I began" my first thought was that even after all the struggles, he always finds himself back to the way it all started. So the cycle, whatever it may be, repeats itself because he cannot find a way to make it end. When I heard "Faceless enemy" I though himself. As in he is trying to find the problem within himself. |

When I first started to listen to this album, it took a little while for this song to actually pop out at me, but after I listened to it and continued to listen to it it really jumped out and yelled, "hey! look at me!" Within the last few months, I myself have been struggling through some hard stuff and so when I look at this song, it makes me think of someone who is struggling to find out who they really are yet have finally reached the point where it simply hurts too much and is not worth the time nor effort. When he says; I will end where I began To me he is saying that he always ends up back at the beginning. And then... And I will find the enemy within Cause I can feel it crawl beneath my skin This says to me that he will find the problem and stop it because he can feeling it lurking just below the surface. And then the chorus says that it's the end. He has given up hope and wants it all to end. Leave me alone God, let me go All blue and cold Black sky will burn Love, pull me down Hate, lift me up Just turn around There's nothing left Somewhere far beyond this world I feel nothing anymore Finally says that he just doesn't care. He has struggled for so long that he is numb to the suffering and is letting it all go. Truly an amazing song when you think about it. |
