Sequoyah Prep School – Somethin' Special Lyrics 15 years ago
I definitely agree the line is "you're so far away, darlin', but so close to my heart that far away ain't that far at all." And also I think it's "extinguishes the small, well this flame in my heart grows higher and higher." But it could also be "good." But I am pretty sure it's not "smallest."
Also does anybody know where to get this song? I have it by freak chance on my iPod but my laptop busted and my new one doesn't have it. I came across the song by strange means to begin with. Just having it on the iPod isn't good enough :(
And I love this song. It's my favorite Sequoyah song by far :) it's beautiful.

Brand New – Missing You Lyrics 16 years ago
"You're the limb I've lost but somehow I still feel." To be literal, what this means is like a phantom pain. Literally, people who lose a limb can (but not necessarily) feel random pains in places where they no longer have a body part. To apply it to the song, I think it means someone leaves and you'd expect that their absence would take away all thoughts and feelings of them, but it didn't. Also, it most likely is "hellish shoal." That makes the most sense. The only other thing it could sound like is "hellish hole," which makes less sense.

Dashboard Confessional – Rapid Hope Loss Lyrics 16 years ago
"So much for all the promises you made, they served you well, and now you're gone and they're wasted on me..."
In relationships people lie to get what they want. Those promises get people what they really shouldn't have. Everyone has experienced this. Or probably will. And my heart goes out to you.

"Now that I can see you, I don't think you're worth a second glance."
Once you realize that the "ex" is just a big liar and used you, you feel bitter, and realize that despite how much you let them affect you, and you hurt, they just aren't even worth that feeling. It's not worth looking back at what you had. The person you saw was a lie, the person you now see is someone not worth seeing.

Dashboard Confessional – The Swiss Army Romance Lyrics 16 years ago
So I don't know if anyone has commented on this yet, but I am pretty sure it is supposed to be "baring your mattress, baring your soul" rather than "bearing your mattress, bearing your soul." Because baring means to expose, and in the context of the song it makes the most sense to be exposing their mattress and their soul, rather than the other meaning which means something like bearing a burden.
