this song sort of reminds me of something im going through right now. im friends with this guy who has a girlfriend and seems to be cheating on her with me. Im pretty sure he likes me back, and in that case, I interpreted this song as if it were in the case of this guy who is with this girl but loves another girl and he cant make up his mind which one he wants, clearly liking the girl he isn't going out with: Is *our secret safe tonight? And are we out of sight? Or will our world come tumblin' down? = they (the girl and him) have been together for a while and ppl are starting to notice something weird Will they find our hiding place? Is this our last embrace? Or will the walls start caving in? = I remember being alone with him in this one place where no one can find the two of us, and now that he's confused with who he wants to be with and ppl hearing about this, people are learning more about the two going deeper into more intimate areas. "walls start caving in" in the case mean the two arent safe anymore (It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it should've been right = it's in the sense that its not right to love someone else, but its right for the two cos he loves the other girl and feels better with her Love is our resistance They keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down And hold me, our lips must always be sealed = They are so in love, but because the guys with another girl, it's bringing them down. He loves the two so much, he doesn't want anything bad to happen, so he wants him and the "other girl" (the girl thats not his girlfriend) to keep shut. If we live our life in fear I'll wait a thousand years Just to see you smile again Quell your prayers for love and peace You'll wake the thought police We can hide the truth inside = They (the "other girl" and the guy) want to go through this together. And they are praying for "love and peace" to make sure God will make things better for the two. The night has reached its end We can't pretend, we must run = Another bad day ended, but unlike the rest, this time they want to forget it all and ruin away from it and forget everything and sorta start anew as a new couple (the "other girl" and the guy) We must run It's time to run .. Take us away from here Protect us from further harm Resistance = Again, to forget about everything and to start anew but that's just me :) |
