| Cage the Elephant – Judas Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I'm probably very wrong here, but I listened to this song after reading an "A Song of Ice and Fire" book, and I think it could be about one of the characters in Game of Thrones. The unseen character known as "the mad king" (no spoilers), who had a bunch of people tortured and killed for little/no reason, causing him to be overthrown in a rebellion. He is eventually killed by the leader of his own city watch. Notice that the song is talking in the second person to somebody, but the final line is "Say hello to Judas", suggesting that "Judas" is not the person that the songwriter is talking to. "Judas" is Jaime Lannister who betrays the mad king. This came to me when I heard the line "the fire in your veins...". The mad king was a Targaryen, and they are represented by a dragon. It is often said that Targaryens have fire in their blood. Nothing I've said is a spoiler, in case you're worried. Everything I talked about happens before the events in the book/tv show. |

I think it could be about a group that is "painted as monsters". I think it is about atheists, who have a very bad reputation for no particular reason. "Painted as monsters" atheists are painted as monsters "Plucked from the garden of wicked beliefs" people believe that that is true. Other quotes supporting this theory is "Then slick back my hair, YOU KNOW THE DEVIL'S IN THERE?" The second verse is about paranoia "We're unwanted strangers, exploited & dangerous, unable to hide or even dream of it. Como estas, parting the seas, like lepers who stroll, why you afraid sweety?" The parting the seas line is also good. |

| Them Crooked Vultures – New Fang Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think it is about somebody first taking a drug. "New Fang, no thang" | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Vietnow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is about the conservative, right-wing, republican radio people, like Rush Limbaugh. If Glenn Beck was around then it would be about him too. "Tha sheep tremble an here come tha votes". Self explanatory. When he refers to "Rush", as in "Head Rush" i think Zack might be doing a pun with Rush Limbaugh. Great song. The references to christianity are references to the religious right. |

| Alice in Chains – Man In The Box Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is AMAZING. THREE MEANINGS! I have figured it out and Layne really wrote great lyrics. Meaning 1: Probably the most obvious, animal cruelty or veal. The Man in the box is a calf in the box, buried in his own sh*t. Meaning 2: Anti-organised religions. The box is a cage restricting freedom that religions have made, the religious guy gets in trouble and shouts "save me". Meaning 3: Anti-censorship. The Jerry Cantrell/Layne Staley songwriting duo is one of the best ever created. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – F.U. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Very deep meaningful lyrics. Anyway, it's about the war in eye-rak. It's WRAWNG! | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Born as Ghosts Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is about the children born every day into poverty in America, the ones that you hardly ever hear about because no-one wants to hear about poor children. They are never seen or heard about, that's where the "born as ghosts" statement comes from. It is maybe more specifically about the class difference (poor-rich divide) in LA. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Bullet In The Head Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is saying that the media puts a metaphorical propaganda bullet in our head, and we do whatever the tv says. "a yellow ribbon instead of a swastika" The bullet is shot this time is not by a soldier fighting with a swastika on his sleeve, but by an american soldier in the gulf war, to which the yellow ribbon was the symbol. This was the only line not about what i said before. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Revolver Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It is about domestic violence: A mother is being beaten up, and she goes mad and kills her husband. "His spit is worth more than her work Pass tha purse to the pugilists He's a prizefighter He bought rings and he owns kin And now he's swingin' And now he's the champion" This is describing how a husband beat up his wife. "A spotless domain Hides festering hopes she's certain thre's more Pictures of fields without fences" She is going mad. "Her body numbs as he approaches the door" She is about to kill her husband, she is getting tense. "Hey revolver, don't mothers make Good fathers ? Revolver" She's going mad, so she's talking to her revolver gun, saying that a mother (her) would make a good father, implying that her son will soon no longer have a father, and the fact that she says that to a gun strongly suggests that she is going to kill her husband. It is about the terrible effects of domestic violence. |

| KoЯn – Faget Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is partly about being a social outcast, and possibly saying how a gay person might feel when people lightly insult gays, or assault them. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Calm Like a Bomb Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Love the bass at the start. If i ever start a band, it'll be called "The Rhyme of the Unheard", because the line is "The riot be the rhyme of the unheard". It is saying that "The riot be *my band*". Also it is a good name for a political band like RATM. PLEASE don't steal that name! Oh shÃt now i'll said don't you'll do it. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Calm Like a Bomb Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is saying that eventually all the people that are being oppressed, in America and outside America, will eventually revolt, rebel and Take the Power Back (pun intended) and take their rights. He is saying that what we have now is the calm before the rebellion, or the calm before the bomb goes off (the bomb is a metaphor for rebellion). "There's a strike and a line of cops outside of tha mill There's a right to obey And a right to kill" Sums up what i am saying |
