i very well could be bias because i have been immersed into the world of conspiracy.. if you do not know about the NWO (new world order) or any of their cynical plans then you are said to be "asleep" why i think this song is about this is because the first verse talks about JFK's assassination. "last week i had the strangest dream, where everything was exactly how it seemed, there was never any mystery of who shot John F. Kennedy.." his 'dream' to me would be most peoples reality...they see the world how it seems not how it actually is. If you know anything about the darker side of JFK's murder then you would have probably came across the he was killed for an entirely bigger reason and Lee Harvey Oswald was just a fall guy that was set up to feed the public lies.. "dont wake me, i plan on sleeping in.." this leads me to believe that he knows the truth but life is so much better asleep that he's just going to stay asleep.. just like in the movie the matrix. Living inside the matrix is infinently better than the world outside of it.. i didn't read most any of the comments so somebody may have already said something like this, if not...here's another view to see it from. |

i may be a little bias because of all of the information i've been reading lately but to me this song is a warning call to the people of the world, but mostly america. if you don't know the metaphor for the majority of the population being "asleep" then you are probably part of that majority. "wake all the children from their slumber", children is used loosely, like children of the sun...meaning everybody.. "..down the staircase we shall creep, to the basement of this white picket home." a shot at the american dream, white picket fence, for the most part of our history, we are used to seeing wars and other bad things happen overseas, far away from us, we are able to distance are self from the horrors that go on in the world today. to me this line is saying that no longer are we safe, i feel they are going to the basement of their white picket home for refuge.. "let's show them where the bad ones go, for all they know, for all they know, their heroes are still untouchable, but they don't know, what they don't know" to me this line is saying let's show them who the real bad people are in the world, they may even be the people you've looked up to and trusted all your life, ie. the government. the last verse doesn't fit too well with my interpretation, but like what i've read above, religion making you feel guilty...organized religion is sort of the adult version of santa claus in my eyes..if you're good your whole life you get into heaven, if you should step out of line you are dammned to burn in hell for all eternity..another control tactic set in place by the elites... like i said i may be a little bias but hope my interpretation brought some insight to the song! |
