| Watch the music video... it's weird... anyway, I think it's about a dude who was committed and is getting very annoyed by everyone saying he has issues and he's annoyed by everyone blaming him for stuff and he doesn't actually jump out, those r just his plans... and then they give him pills to make him feel "better." Oh and yah sitting in a room that's all white and being alone all the time would drive anyone mad, I don't blame the poor guy. He kinda gets like claustrophobic caz the walls are closing in and everything is dim and he feels trapped, and he wants out! I'm sorry I can't say I can't truly relate, but I can imagine sitting there bored all alone with these jerk offs giving me random pills and telling me I'm crazy in a shabby small little room.... oh by the way... a little psych lesson while we're on that subject... schizophrenia is NOT split-personality, or medically known as Dissociative Personality Disorder, schizophrenia is when you have really diorganized thoughts and hallucinate (hear voices and see things that aren't there) and have delusions and paranoia, I'm tired of typing so look it up on WebMD.... :p | |

| ok hey again guys i commented like a year ago and was reading the comments again caz the song came on and i thought about how i commented last year... oh yah, im still fine btw, got accepted to every college i applied to and still no darned voices telling me to poop on ur neighbors lawn caz the squirrels told me where u live and I'll totally do it too! | Ok all u nutcase lunatics... its about schizophrenia... duh. plain and simple... voices, visual hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, etc. Many people with schizophrenia turn to religion or have religious delusions because religion is so prominent in society and easy to get confused about and caught up in. Also because it deals with the outside world and angels and demons and good and bad and stuff of the like.. Even I'm paranoid about religion, God forbid I become schizophrenic. Also, it makes references to politicians and frickin spiders talking... like what does that have to do with religion. People with schizophrenia often think their thoughts are being broadcasted and people and most commonly the gov't is conspiring against them. | Dude! You're totally right! The psychiatric INDUSTRY is making up things to get money, duhhh! Anyway, in 1994, DSM IV came out and it was in there. But in 2013, DSM V is coming out and AS isn't gonna be there, it's gonna be under Autistic Disorder and it's going to be called Mild Autistic Disorder, or High Functioning Autism, whichever you prefer. Yahh.. so I hope this knowledge makes you feel a bit more dignant due to the fact that it doesn't exist and won't exist to psychiatric personnel at all by 2013! | Ok..... so here's my medical analysis of all your interpretations... and finalllyyyy... SMART PEOPLE!!!! YAY! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!! <3 Ok. So. Asperger's Syndrome is HFA(high functioning autism), and yes it is being categorized under Autism as mild autistic disorder instead of it's own disorder when DSM V (Diagnotic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- Fitfth Edition)comes out in 2013 so YAY, people did their research, woott!!!! Asperger's Syndrome seems just about right, oh and I would know, I thought I had it for 3 yrs, and turns out my BF has it! hehe. Ok, so when kids with AS are young, they don't like to be touched or hugged and they seem like they're in their own little world. They seem very normal, you can't really tell if they have AS until you actually talk to them for a while, being that they have trouble holding conversations and reading facial cues and body language. Anyway, the kid starts getting older and realizes that he's a bit different and gets kinda depressed and as a result, he reverts further into his own little word. Now, as for the comorbities, or side-dishes of mental disorders if you will. AvPD- Avoidant Personality Disorder, not APD- that's Antisocial Personality Disorder which is totally different, again, I would know that cuz I'm weird. Anyway... so yes, people are actually smart and realize that AvPD and OCD and ADD -(which accounts for the daydreaming and stuff) are all comorbities of AS, so are anxiety, panic disorder, and depression, oh yeah, and bipolar disorder. Ok, so when the dude gets older, he starts suffering from schizophrenia. This is plausible because there is a genetic link between autism/AS and schizophrenia and people with AS have a much higher risk of getting schizophrenia than your average NT (neurotypical)- well... "normal" person. Yeah, so he gets older and his life just gets worse cuz now he's got this schizophrenia- which seems to be differentiated type (paranoid type and catatonic type mixed together) and so yeah, that's what I think and yah. Oh btw- the 5 types of schizophrenia won't exist in DSM V either, they're just gonna be called just plain old schizophrenia... oh and NSSI (non- suicidal self-injury disorder is gonna be a new disease, too... making money offa cutters now are we?....woohoo! Hooray for the world! Not that anyone knows the frickin difference between types of schizophrenia besides me or anyone who has taken an abnormal psychology course. | OK, dorkbrains... the song is about addiction and the need to feel alive through certain stimulation, and the fact that the media and society support such repulsive and weird acts, like say doing drugs, abortion, uhh... doing odd sexual activities, such as fisting. It's really about the media and society shoving all of this corrupted and sick bullsh*t up our asses. It's a metaphor that uses fisting (sticking your finger, fist, knuckles, etc. further up someone's ass) which is gross and disgusting, to say that the media is telling us to do all of these wrong acts to feel "alive" and be "cool" and try new things and "live a little." It shoves it further and further up our asses until we can no longer ignore it. Duh. | |

| I think it's about a bad habit or addiction that someone developed out of a need for self-medication. They blame the drugs or whatever for when they fall and they expect it to make everything better when in reality it does more harm than good. I'm pretty sure your mom, or other people, don't exactly make you feel "manic." | I agree with soongsinner caz it kinda makes sense when he say "both" and "I'm" and stuff, one part of him went in one direction and the other in another. It's kinda a contrast between good and bad and one lifestyle that leads down the right road and the other lifestyle that leads down the wrong road. And when the one guy didn't make it home from school it shows that the good personality "himself" is badly affected by his other personality and he ended up getting hurt or something. Also, I just like that dissociative identity disorder explanation better caz it sounds more interesting and better... :p | |

ok i honestly think tht this song is about society's over- emphasis on "normal." The person in the song feels like he is being ridiculed and judged and psychoanalyzed by everybody around him. He feels like a mental patient because he is so closed off in himself and too hurt to actually react, just as a mental patient is totally over- medicated to they could barely even move or react to anything. He has grown so numb and passive, just like a mental patient. He feels he can't control anything or speak up for himself because he feels if he does, people would force him down and restrict him, just like a mental patient who seems to have forgotten to take his meds and needs to be put into a straight-jacket (which is totally inhumane for too many reasons to list). WHst the hell is normal anyway? I feel people have the privacy of thought and right to their own opinion for a reason. We are all different in our own little way. Oh and I'm really sorry to correct whoever spelled it wrong up there, but it's schizophrenia. Srry :p |

hahaha the first time i heard this song, i cracked up laughing... its kinda weird tho, i was actually going through a weird phase in my life, where i was having symptoms of schizophrenia, and this song knida, helped me to laugh about it instead of get all down about it. By the way, my second cousin's wife has it, maybe i could randomly call her and make her listen to the song and ask her what she thinks about it. As for the meaning of the song, i agree with everyone else, but i always thought the dude was hallucinating this girl and they'd "hang out" until she disappeared or when she... the voices.... said mean things to him ahahha idk, i look too deeply into things caz im weird. aha P.S. Im perfectly fine now, apparently the symptoms were caused by stress and a weird reaction to acne meds... idk how, but yes, acne meds.... |
