I know it's probably not true, but in my opinion, I always thought of this song as a sort of suicidal song with an ocean theme to it. I'm just a normal boy that sank when I fell overboard My ship would leave the country but I'd rather swim ashore To me, this part is saying something like, "I was normal but I spiraled downward away from everyone, all my friends moved foward but I went back." or something like that..I just can't quite put it into words. Without a life-vest I'd be stuck again Wish I was much more masculine Maybe then I could learn to swim like 14 miles away And this part says, "Without a purpose for life, I'd be stuck in this pathetic state." And he's probably saying things about wanting to be stronger... so he could take bigger steps in his life. How can one man stop his ending... Well I thought of just your face Relaxed and floated into space He's thinking of his friend who's probably done the same thing he's planning on doing and thinks that it'll make everything okay. My will to quickly end it all ...Into the ocean end it all It sounds like he wants to quickly end his life by jumping in the ocean. I know this isn't true but this is just how I see it. |
