This song's lyrics are shit. Christians KNOW the world is a shit hole. There's NOTHING in the Bible that states otherwise.
Therefore:

I'll admit many Christians over the past centuries have been extremely erroneous and have done some really fucked up shit (such as ALL killing "in the name of God"). It's wrong and please don't let those things influence your views of Christianity so much, it's in the past....like Black segregation.

I'm a Christian and I love Slayer.
BEAUTIFUL views you got there, Joker. God is just; he lets you make your own decisions. he doesn't force you to do ANYTHING, you decide what you do with your life (HUGE part of Christianity is freedom of choice, I'm sure you're familiar with Adam & Eve). Now, he gives us the Bible, which gives us ADVICE on how to live life and be safe (CONVENIENT HUH?). Like a father giving his son the advice of not doing drugs......... WHY DOES HE DO THIS!? Because he knows it'll just cast his son down into despair, pain, and death (HAHAH, alot of Slayer songs are about this, aint they =O! So don't come to me with the "Pfft, drugs won't do that, it's people being stupid that do that!", if you follow Slayers lyrics like a life template, I'll use them as examples then). His son can do WHATEVER he wants. If he CHOOSES to do drugs and it leads him into misery, who's fault was it? Will his father save him? Who do you think the son will be blaming when no one helps him? God blesses AND punishes, he's no pussy, he doesn't save you from everything just because you ask him too, and if you believe he should, then you're illusioned and self-deceited (Terms us Christian are CONSTANTLY being accused of being =D). Why don't drug addicts go to rehab everytime they get caught by the police instead of going to jail? Because they'll do it again. If God came to our rescue everytime, we'd do whatever we want with God as our personal "re-do button". Then there would be two hells. Slayer makes it clear that addicts and whatnot are punished with death and despair and, again- whatnot, and people go "OHZ YEH! AWWSUM LEERIKZ!" at that, but then bitch at God for letting those addicts get punished. Yeah, the world's unjust because we make it. |
