I think the meaning is quite literal... alot of you read too much into this. Shes saying, "you can entertain your childhood friends with a tour of the bedroom" which simply translates.... "(enter person) can entertain his/her childhood friends with a tour of the bedroom" and when she says, "laugh to erase the dirt on your mind" so some dirt or something is disturbing him/her, so the laughter is to get rid of it. idk...theres rlly not much to read into. you dont know what the author intended, so why do such heavy analysis? |

wow, i love metric. ALL of their songs are unique and i cant get tired of listening to them. i REALLY love this song. its kind of like "Too Little Too Late" (also by Metric). never bothered trying to decipher the meaning of this song. |

| that was a beautifully written article. highly insightful. but heres the thing people: while you're spending ur precious time figuring out what this song means and coming up with deep, profound, potential meanings of the song, there is a possibility that Ms. Haines never even thought of that herself... the meaning of the song could simply just be the literal meaning.... she may have never intended to critisize the music industry or how society jumps from loving one form of music to another. | |
