wow left something out... ...so he can view the world in such a detached way that the horrors of war or even daily life on the streets don't affect him, mess with his head. Hell I see things on the news daily that depress me (hence why I'm giving up on the news) so that could be what he means by the chorus. Not sure about the rest of the song though |

completely agree. Ben's voice is ****ing amazing. I love how he can transition his vocal styling so smoothly in the middle of a song. My interpretation of the chorus is this: it's from the viewpoint of a soldier who has witnessed a lot of horrific things on his tour of duty "show me what it's like, to dream in black and white, so i can leave this world behind" sounds to me like he wants to know how he can view the world in such a detached way that the horrors of war or even daily life on the streets. Not sure about the rest of the song though. |
