The chorus just reminds me of a vampire romance for some reason 'I've been burning in water' (burning in holy water?) 'and drowning in flame' (vampires burnt by fire) 'To prove you wrong and scare you away) as if to prove to her that he is dangerous, he is a vampire, and she shouldn't fall in love with him I know it's not the real lyric interpretation, those lyrics just makes me think of it :D |

This song is so beautiful, her voice is so meaningful and sweet <3 I do agree that this song is about a relationship that just isn't working out, but she really wants it to, so lets herself change just for this boy, because she wants it to work out "'Cause I'd rather pretend I'll still be there in the end" <3 |

This song COULD have suited my situation perfectly. I COULD have got him where I wanted him...but things went wrong. Very wrong. Because of me. But I DID manage to break this couple up, which I never thought I would do. What I wouldn't give to sing this song! But of course, only Hayley with the 3-octave vocal range and largest set of lungs can sing songs like this, so I guess I'll have to keep dreaming :D |

This may be a completely stupid idea, but I think this song is about being a vampire. I have a bit of proof, but of course, it could be wrong :P "But I rise up above it, high up above it" "Whatever you do, don't be afraid of the dark" - living in darkness "One night of the hunter" - as a vampire, he is a hunter "One day I will get revenge" - possibly on the one who changed him into a vampire? "One night to remember" - the night he was changed "One day it'll all just end" - could be about ending his afterlife, by stepping into the sunlight "Pleasure to meet you but prepare to bleed" - speaks for itself? "Ripped her apart/buried her heart, rise up above it" - maybe he had a relationship with a mortal, but he eventually killed her? But he has learnt to get over it and accept the fact that he is 'dangerous' "Honest to God I'll break your heart, tear you to pieces and rip you apart" - almost a warning to the next person who could potentially fall in love with him While listening to this song, the lyrics just reminded me of a life as a vampire, and the fast-paced, aggressive music also adds to that, too. This is just my own opinion, so don't kill me over it, okay? :) |
