Well the literal meaning of this song is obviously about the events that transpired involving Daenerys and her husband Kahl Drogo from George RR Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire (from the novel A Game of Thones specifically). |

Well this is an irrelevant correction, but Jesse actually does love Chase and Sizer very much like they were actually his biological kin but he tries very hard not too because he doesn't want to be emotionally attached to them considering there is a very strong possibility they will die somehow just like other people he cared for in the past (Mariah, Coheed, and Cambria) or be used against him somehow.

I'm not going to go too much into this but I feel maybe this whole song is possibly a song about greed. Cupid stuck her with the sickness for a love of money which is a typical inspiration for some music out there(money being a muse). Everyone wants a lot of the basic things though such as love and being important(playing the lead). |

I love everyone's ideas (and the song too) and from reading them I came up with a different one.
It could also be something like the person is singing about a friend who was in a band with them (possibly punk) but that friend left and got into a more mainstream band (or went solo) and basically, went to live one of those superficial rock star lives. Now they're talking trash about their old band.
There's really a number of possibilities to this song's meaning which is probably one of the reasons it (and so many others) works so well. |
