Very soothing song, the production is unique for something from his solo career. I'm guessing "you should of been nice to me" refers to someone who treated him badly before his Smith's fame...and how now they probably wish they had been nicer? I have no idea, but I like it. |

I get kind of a flirty gay vibe from this line. And when I swing it So, it catches his eye ... (Weren't you there ? - You'd have died !) This seems like a reference to how he swings the mic, catching the eye of a male fan. This could mean a number of things, that he is aware of his charm and allure but that he is not one of these models, devoid of any thought or originality. |

I've played this song probably 45 times this weekend. I have yet to tire of it. A strange song for the smiths in that it's so syrupy sweet and positive. Almost as if Morrissey is encouraging you to do the things you want, and say the things you feel. If only she would just ask me. It's really pissing me off... |

This reminds me of my closest friend. His situation is not as dramatic, he just really doesn't need anyone to entertain him or long for the company of others. Of course, were no one to inquire about his well being, he'd probably get lonely and become pathetically needy. It seems Morrissey on the other hand ACTUALLY doesn't need anyone in his life. He's lasted this long as a social recluse, what's another twenty odd years alone? |
