i think the beginning samples are pretty important to the rest of the song.
"Alright, come on, let's cut the bullshit enough,
Let's get it started, let's start addressing this issue and open it up"
it seems like he's talking about the whole issue of each generation doing a little better than the next. in the rest of the song, what he's saying is how can someone, especially someone with his life, become a better person than his parents generation ? while also cleverly managing to apologize with a twist. for his tape that was supposedly "rascist."

I don't understand why so many people have a problem with his accents. i think it's amazing that he can use an accent while also managing to have crazy flow and rhyme. it's one of his talents that i think is very under-appreciated, but that's just my opinion. this song is sinister, but i love it. |

In January 2008 Em was released from a Detroit hospital after being rushed there during Christmas 2007. His publicist attributed this to a bout with pneumonia. He's suggesting from this line that it had to do with drugs instead, which honestly, makes more sense. |

"a lot of truth is said in jest." thats very true.
and i love the chorus, he only uses a few different words, but you can tell exactly what he means by his tone of voice. you get the exact emotions. that's what i love about most of his music, it can reach out and make you feel a certain emotion. music like that is timeless. |
