I think this song is about a relationship that almost was between good friends. They both know there is some undeniable connection between them but they cant be together because she is in a relationship. I always think about it like he is telling her how he feels but she is afraid. He wonders what he is doing here and why its just him that is day dreaming about what they could be.
but this could just be me relating songs I hear to my situation. I mean no one does that... |

This chorus is so simple but rings truer than 99% of the songs out there. Its so great because ppl can relate so well to the ideas/feeling being conveyed. The music/harmony + lyrics just paint such a vivid picture. I think its about being blindsided by your feelings for someone who, for whatever reason, is unattainable.
I know im not alone if feeling it matches my situation perfectly.I have fallen so hard for a good friend of mine, but she is dating another friend. Everything about her is intoxicating, I can't help but smile every time she talks to me. We are so similar and get along effortlessly, but at the end of the day its not my place to tell her.....(for now):) |

This song, just like every other, is about whatever each individual makes of it. We all interpret songs and lyrics differently. It doesn't have to be about God. The band may be a Christian band, but that doesn't mean I have to think about God when I listen to it. I relate to this song on a much different front, and must say it's unbelievable. It's one of those gems I keep coming back to year after year. Cheers. |

This song is unbelievable. Really one of the few songs right now that I can listen to continuously and not get sick of.
Like a of people have stated so far, I think the song clearly is about falling for someone who, for one reason or another, you cant have. In my case I'm in love with my best friend's gf and cant do anything about it. The song just captured me from the first time I heard the first line. |
