my favorite line in this song is: "but don't you dare fuck with janelle she's everything that you are not she's not a girl, she is a thought she's an idea or an ideal that you won't ever get" janelle is the girl created through all the songs of desperate love and longing. she's the reason we're compelled to listen to and write these simple songs. she's the reason our guts are spilled out all over the floor. i love that the idea is being so fiercely defended. he's willing to let everything else be tarnished except janelle. the amount of passion, emotion, romance, and meaning packed into just a couple sentences amazes me. |
