| A Great Big World – Rockstar Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
I think it's about how everyone dreams of who they'll grow up to be when they're young, but we lose sight of it as we grow older. When we grow up we start to lose the meaning of our lives that used to seem so clear to us as kids. But, the song is also about how we should regain that sense of wonder and excitement that we held as youth and find meaning again through the loneliness and doubt. When the song goes "take a ticket and get off the line," I think it's saying to leave that old line of thought and go find a new one. It's a challenge to go out and make something of your life, like you used to think you'd do as a kid. |

| Amos The Transparent – After all that's come to this Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
At first I thought this was a breakup song, but after listening to it again for the first time in over a year I think I finally understand what it means. The girl is leaving to see the world and to understand who she is and what her part is in the grand scheme of things. They love each other, and there's this hope that she'll return to him in the end after her life changing journey. Yet they both know that this very well might not be the case. Things can change while she's gone. Yet the girl is longing for something more in her life, so she leaves him in search of herself. He is supportive in her decision because he loves her and he knows that she needs this. Girl: There's no need for big plans Boy: I'll be here when you're ready She's saying that she doesn't want to make this an absolute goodbye. There's no need to plan her life out, anything could happen. He's saying that whatever happens he'll be there for her when she returns. I think this interpretation is a LOT more beautiful and meaningful than just perceiving it as a breakup song. So this is certainly the meaning I'll choose to listen to it through. |

| Sleeping At Last – Umbrellas Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I think the song is called umbrellas because umbrellas protect people from the drenching rain. The singer is the umbrella, protecting his love from the cruelty of the world and keeping her safe from despair. The title is referencing these lines: Give me your hand, it’s time. It’s time to show new eyes their home. When fences divide our land, I would catch bullets with my bare hands. Because you were meant for amazing things. When there is discord, he will protect her and keep her safe, even if that would involve putting himself directly in harm's way because he has to give her what she was meant to have. |

| Matthew West – I Can't Hear You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is a fun, upbeat song to dance around with and has a good meaning, too. It means that even when you can't hear God over the sound of the world, He is still with you and will never leave you. My favorite part is: "Do you ever get the feeling that you're not alone No matter who you are, No matter where you go?" |

| Relient K – The Truth Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
When I heard this: Sometimes when you're trying to sleep and all your doubts and your faith dont agree It's cause sometimes the hardest thing to believe is the truth my jaw droped. How did Matt know that I do that? It was like he was singing that song for me. I know that God exists but sometimes it's hard to believe, and God knows that. Thats why he makes amazing bands like Relient K--to quiet our secret doubts. I really feel sorry for Relient K, though. Who do they listen to? |

| Relient K – I Just Want You To Know Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Whoa- The comments for this song are kind of sad; let's change that. I really like this song, the tune is really catchy and the lyrics are simple and quirky, yet still meaningful and easy to relate to. They could have complicated the lyrics a lot more, but I love how simple and easy to understand they are. It would have taken away from the song if they had made it into a "bigger" song because that is what the whole song is about, just simply stating that they want you to know God exists. I really especially love the part where it says: To know that there was a man who lived one day With holes in his hands As some do say And I believe we'd be friends if we talked and prayed I believe so many of the people I know and I would be friends if we talked and prayed. I love how plain and simple he says it. To me, it's about how he has been arguing with someone about God existing, but he doesn't want to just come out and say that he is right because he knows that it won't get them anywhere. He is tired of them both trying to insist that they are right so he is putting up a kind of white flag in their war of faith. He is saying that he just wants the person to know that God is out there and loves him, he doesn't care if he wins the argument or not. Its meaning reminds me of "From End To End." It's too bad the song is so short! P.S. Sorry for using the word 'simple' so much! |

| I agree with UBigMoo327` I always thought that this song was about a relationship with God. Of course, songs can always be interpreted many different ways. | |
| Matthew West – Only Grace Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The lyrics are amazing, they send chills down my spine. Almost everytime I hear it, it makes me cry. There is only grace in heaven and I can't wait to experience it. "More" by Matthew West is also one of his best songs, I just downloaded both onto my ipod and I can't stop flipping between them. | |
| Relient K – If You Believe Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think you hit it right on. That was how I had been viewing it too, but you cleared up any verses that had confused me before. I like to look at it this way because sometimes I have trouble understanding exactly what God wants me to do. Sometimes I just pray for some kind of sign that will point me in the right direction for the next step of God's Plan. And then I'm afraid that I misinterpreted the sign. So I can relate to the song much better if I look at it like this. It reminds me that I'm not the only one who does this. | |
| Relient K – Getting Into You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
That is exactly how I viewed it, but you said it better than I could have. Now I don't really have anything to say about this song, because I would just end up quoting you. |
