Fear Factory – A Therapy For Pain Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about a near death experience/dying and moving on.

You're about to die, this song is about your thoughts when faced with dying. "Tried so hard" could refer to trying to keep clinging onto life, or trying to live a good life or a life that you enjoyed (which I think). The end verse can be interpreted two ways in my opinion. The bright light could refer to someone guiding you to the other end, finally passing on and moving onto another life, or waking up from your near death experience, but having a close brush with death.

The lyrics fit both IMO, I don't think it fits suicide, its embracing the act of dying naturally, not trying to commit suicide to die.

First off, I am not religiious, I am still open minded (unlike some of the tools on here, who more than likely have never studied up on christianity).

Now, I ask, why do you ask religious people to "lighten up?" If you were gay, and there were comments insulting people who were gay, you telling me you wouldn't be offended? My fucking ass, it's human nature to be offended by views you hold dear. Thats at Jyekkil. Religion is no different.

Another thing, it's assholes like some of these FF fans (which I'm ashamed to admit since I love the band, been my favourite for near enough 10 years now), who give not only metal fans a bad rep, but humanity itself.

As in Burtons lyrics, humanity slowly descends, and it's because of judgemental arrogant idiotic fucks like them. If you do not share a view of something, there is no need to insult.

People debate there has been tons of blood and murder commit over religion. This is no different than anything over the course in history. Blood has been shed by stuff as trivial over a football team you support, to your sexuality preference, to the colour of your skin. Should we start saying blacks are bad because so much blood has been spilled over the colour of their skin? That's pretty much the same to what you're saying to religion.

Fucking idiots. Get some intelligence behind you. Like I did note, I am not religious, but I hate idiocy more than anything in the world.

Anyway, on topic. I think this sticks to the Man vs Machine thing. I do not think this is anti-religious in the slightest, though it seems that way. It's a mindframe thing. You need to get in the role of how the album storyline is being processed. Burton is an intelligent man, I do not see him blatantly going out of his way to insult in some things of humanity, when he goes on about compassion and other things, which the bible was built on.
