I really like your opinions on this song. It's absolutely beautiful and definitely one of my favorites. Personally, I think that it could as simple as someone who was always there for her. No matter how hard she tries to keep this person in her life he or she is never there. The line "Next time I'll be braver, I'll be my own savior." says that to me. She might have always gone to this person whenever she had a bad day, needed a friend to talk to, or when she really needed someone to save her. As time passes, their friendship has faded away and the person is no longer there. And every time she calls on him or her, they turn the tables around and make the situation worse. I think that this song her way of saying that she has finally figured out that the person is no longer there for her and it's time for her to move on and not let him or her close, or give him or her the chance to desert her. ("So I won't let you close enough to hurt me. No, I won't ask you, you to just desert me.") |

| this song made me cry the first time I paid attention the lyrics. Not only is it gorgeous, it explains a lot of feelings that happen between girls and guys when they are best friends. It really is a hard situation to solve, and once that line has been crossed, you can never go back. | |

This song is incredible and really shows some emotions that a lot of people feel. It's about a guy who has stong feelings for a girl. She leaves him behind, but always comes back {"It's not the first time that she's walked away..."}. He was too in love to see what was happening, but now that he thinks she's gone for good, he realized she never cared for him to begin with. I've been there... and this song (as cheesy as this may sound) really helped me put things into perspective. |

I understand what this song is talking about... I feel the same way with this guy right now. It's about a guy who has a girl whom he cares so much for, but things are always wrong when they are together. And there's always something keeping them apart romantically. Despite that, she's told him that she cares for him {"Maybe I'm just another one of her lies..."}. Since things are always bad, he doesnt know what to believe anymore. His friends want him to move on and get over her, but because he cares so much for her, he just can't give up on her. There's something that always pulls him back to her. Deep in his heart, he knows that its wrong for him, and he knows he's going to get hurt over and over again {"We're right back in the water..."}, but he just can't (or wont) give up. |
