This song makes me think of me and my fiance bcz he's far away in Charleston while I'm still in Minnesota. This song is beautifully written and it definitely shows a different side of Avril, a softer spot. That's what I love about her, she's not afraid to try new things with not only her looks but her songs as well.

Avril said in one of her concerts that this song is about being yourself and sticking up for it. That's what I love about Avril, she doesn't care what anybody thinks of her and that goes for her new album too, The Best Damn Thing, she doesn't care what anybody thinks of her!! I can totally relate to this song bcz I'm the same kind of person as Avril. If ppl don't like Avril for who she is, even today, then that's their problem and they need to move on and accept Avril for who she is.

I personally can relate to this song bcz back then, a lot of ppl used to judge me all the time on the outside and inside. They judged me of how shy I was and as I entered high school, I start dressing more Goth and ppl in my family were being judgmental of me and I was like what the heck is wrong with you ppl?!!? You don't judge a person like that, that is so mean and rude bcz there's way more to a person than the outside and how they dress. How ppl dress doesn't mean anything, it's the inside of that person, that's what truly matters!!!!! I learned that it's better to not care what anybody thinks of you outside and insde bcz it's better to remain true to yourself! I think that's the message Britney is trying to send out to everyone hence the name of this song "What you see is what you get" and same with my Goth appearance, what you see is what you get bcz I am never changing into somebody else and same with Britney.

I personally love this song!!!!! I know I'm not a celebrity or anything like that, but like Lindsay, I hate rumors myself. I hate when ppl have to spread something around about somebody else that's totally untrue!!!! So I totally understand where Lindsay is coming from! I know once you're a celebrity, you're going to get all kinds of attention and cameras flashing at you, but after a while, I'm sure it does get sickening and Lindsay is just speaking her mind about how she feels with the paparazzi with this song.

This song is actually mine and my fiance's song!!! Every time I hear the lyrics "Marry me Juliet you'll never have to be alone. I love you and that's all I really know", I always get chills and my heart melts from passion bcz those lyrics bring back my memories of how he proposed to me!!! :)

Thank you!!!! Finally someone agrees with me that Avril loves to be different!!! I also agree with you when you said that she's not trying to please anyone! It's true, she isn't trying to please anyone or turning herself into Britney Spears, all she's doing is being herself bcz Avril is the kind of person who doesn't care what others think about her. She has a purpose for every song she's written, whether it's deep or not. She just wanted to make her album The Best Damn Thing more fun and dance-y, which I find really cool and Avril could care less what ppl think about her songs!!
