My theory of what the song and lyrics mean; David(lead singer)is dating a suicidal girl named Devon, who then commits suicide.David goes to her apartment and finds her hung from the ceiling.Her soul is then stolen by the grim reaper and brought to hell(represented by the words"inside the fire", meaning in hell)David doesn't know what to do.The devil tells him that he can join Devon if he too commits suicide and so he decides to join her so he took the rifle he had mounted on the wall pulled the trigger only to find out he was in heaven.So he was basically being tricked into death by the devil. |
