i agree w/ the drug reference... one of the most popular Ecstasy pills were called "Supermans" back in the day. I think he took one and all of sudden took a walk on the dark side of the moon...to ease his mind...then he's also asking random people if they'll still be his friend at the end because you think you love every one until you come back down to earth. he's either talking to random people or someone who's hand he's grabbed & is feeling like superman. definitely about drugs. |

i think this song just puts into perspective how people fool themselves into thinking the chemistry they feel with a new person is love but, it's just lust. the forbidden fruit tastes sweeter rings so true in this song. not that the lust may not develop into love but, you will more often than not, be in this same situation again when you're bored with your new spouse. most people who fall into this kind of relationship are never satisfied for too long. of course, there is the one in million exception to the rule. Love the song. Stay faithful :) |

i think he is only contemplating suicide because he knows no one will ever believe him anyway. he says his life has done him wrong & all his rescues gone by, means that he's used up all of his chances for forgiveness & feels he has no choice. don't think he killed her though. |

i heard this song in the movie "closer" first & i was happy to see that the video was on the extras. her voice is like an angel breathing life onto a flower, so beautiful. this song just mesmerizes me. damien rice has an amazing voice as well. this is easily in my top 5 songs of all time. |

i was listening to this at work & it seemed like a cute little song until i realized what they were saying. they basically say this girl would get more guys to notice her if she would just fix herself up a little bit,lol. they think she needs to buy more clothes & be realistic about changing herself because that's how life goes. |

I think what makes him sound creepy to every one is the part about taking her into the night & showing her love...aka sex. how many older men out are there have this same fantasy about some younger girl next door? we all know age isn't a factor sometimes in love but, wanting to swoop into a young girls room in the middle of the night just sounds like some middle-aged guys creepy fantasy,lol. |
