| Razorlight – Blood for Wild Blood Lyrics

So just a couple of lyrical corrections first: Not "stain to stain" but it's "strain to strain"; Not "Liars choke on their spike" but it's "Liars choke on their spite"; Not "and you be on wondering" but it's "And you're beyond wondering"; Not "And a calm in my gaze as my feet are retire" but it's "And a calm in my gaze as my fear retires"; Not "I'm apart of this illusion" but it's "And for whose illusion"; Not " I'm for Blues Blood" but it's "And for whose blood"; Not "To which new feeling do we go" but it's "To which new fever do we go". Overall you did a great job with the lyrics and thank you for posting.
Looking at the song wire to wire, I think the phrase means an intense love. So in this song possibly the narrator has reached this intense love. The beginning sounds like the narrator and whoever have been clubbing, drugged out of their minds. This drug induced high through the song lends the belief that maybe wire to wire is them feeling this intense connection and attraction to each other, but not necessarily love like in the song wire to wire. Maybe? Just my thoughts. I do know that I absolutely love this song and listen to it all the time. |

It sounds like a patient who is very mentally ill and is avoiding treatment and fearful of the treatment and also doesn't believe it will help. Reminds me of 'One Flew Over the Cukoo Nest'. |

To tag onto that is the wife( you referred to as girlfriend) develops stockholm syndrome and falls for the kidnapper. My sister also said that she might see the kidnapper as a hero and loves him because he saved her from her destructive husband, who got them in this situation in the first place. The reason I say girlfriend over wife is because of the value of her life as well as he says 'to your husband you're dead'. |

Seriously can not stop listening to this song. What a great love song.
Seriously the best verse from a song:
"It feels so strange to feel good
And when I was the fire you were wood
So when I was petrified
you understood"
I love it! |

I agree with your interpretation. That's what I got from it. With the genius of White life's the central message of the song- outgrown and trying to hold on to what they had before they were there- can be altered to many other thing. I am an exchange student right now and I can feel myself get homesick and I play this song. It completely fits. I love it! |

It could be about a vide-game, but I thought it was more referencing his life at the fantasy level. Nothing is real and practical in his world of money. I took it lyric by lyric. He was born into money, his parents shipped him off somewhere. I assumed he made hell with some authoritarian and took off literally cross-country without anyone (ahead of my time). Etc. Etc. I think it just captures a guy's life that hold no/little meaning to him. The chorus I don't think is a real suicide thought as much as boredom with the life. He want to be slain because he is bored and alone, the keywords that make this an empty threat is that he won't say it the last time replacing it with 'la la la' and that he says 'sometimes'. So I agree with Mathleticism. |

I understood this as a song about Alex Turner since him and Luke quarrel nonstop. Also he is attacking this guy's talent by saying "you're no poet man, just want everyone looking at you", which could be a complete reference to Alex. Though it is a song in broader terms of not letting people's attitudes or what they say affect you. |

I am only guessing... It seems to be someone who is living with a depression or suffering and is waiting to be lifted from it or be taken down by it, like suicide or something along those line. It sounds like they are describing the slowness of pain and the fact that it can either build or slowly melt away. Also they seem to be comforting the sufferer. Telling them this period is going to be hard, but you will surely see the better side and relief soon. |

I think you are right Franky-San. It's about a boy who can't get over a girl, but I think she left. leaving him wondering around for her. He wants her, but she isn't there so he has to find another just like her and he gets the closest with her sister. That's just what I think. Only Alex truly knows. : ) |

I read the book Neon Bible by John Kennedy Toole, which the album is inspired by and I took this song, like the book, which is about religious and social/culture bigotry. I took the line "Father's house" to mean God's house. This album seemed to be very anti-religious because of the ignorance a church can put on a group-like in the book. That is just my understanding, but again the beauty of music is that it speaks to everyone differently. |

| Two Door Cinema Club – Costume Party Lyrics

I think it's about a man who is following his dreams, this could be the band singing about the struggle of proving this is a good choice/goal for them as a career. The reference to being 'too young' is spoken by the unbeliever. The unbeliever is trying to get him to see his dreams are impossible, but the dreamer seems to think the unbeliever does not understand. "You think you know, you don't know". I think the Unbeliever is successful in his argument because I think the Costume Party is the Dreamer's goal. Which I thought was strange because I assumed it was about the band. So, maybe the costume party is referring to the goal becoming a quick reality. Just a guess. |

I think this is a song of friendship...the singer is holding up his friend, who is messed up and can't handle his life by himself. I have had friends like this. You keep trying to hold them up, but they keep bringing you down as you try to help them...taking their burdens, sheltering them, etc. This song captures so much. It is eery. My favorite by BRMC. |

I don't think they are denying God as much as they are being anti-christian religion or monotheism religion. It is based off the book "Neon Bible" by John Kennedy Toole. The album is heavily religious and I interpret as challenging religion and what it does to man-not the concept of God. |

I like the small stories Nathan Willet creates about the lower class and the struggle of American/immigrants here in the U.S. I found myself listening to Cold War Kids a lot while taking my Sociology class. He definitely hits at class struggle and trying to find that escape route from that stress in a lot of songs. I think he voices the unheard, on a general term, in all his songs, and most of it is silent suffering. Like in this song, the man is escaping America in anyway he can-taking the communion money. |

| Cold War Kids – Relief Lyrics

What I got from it is that God is being interpreted as the wrathful first testament biblical one. He is showing man through his life threatening natural disasters to look at their life once more and see is that how they really want to live like:
"Flash flood
You got too comfortable
So I showed you who's really in control
You gave all your savings to the poor
Lightning on the river
And you're shivering with your fishing pole
Same night you bought a ring and you proposed"
The other parts that talk about him being fair and people guessing that it will all be explained is about people's uncertainties and hopes on what God is like. We hope He is fair and looking out for us, but we can't be sure:Oh my, thank "you for keeping me safe
Even though you know it don't always go that way"
Anyway that is what I got from it |

I really love this song, but once I figured out it was about suicide it was harder to listen to, which I think means it is very well written. It has an eeriness to it. It is about a man used to saving people from attempting suicide. I think from his perspective we see the pang of his job. It is about his job dealing with people trying to commit suicide-not just suicide. |

| Cold War Kids – Dreams Old Men Dream Lyrics

The song is about an Old man reflecting on his youth as a young man and trying to figure out how he got to the elderly man he is now. The first lyric being his youth fantasy(dream) and then the second lyric being his reality. Example:"Thought I was built like a buildings built. Iron concrete and stone. I realize Im just a hack actor. Finished playing my role"
When he is not reminiscing, you can see the old and bitterness in him. shooting flares at people's boats, not caring what happens to his piano...
He is just not the man he once was and can not recognize himself |
