| Of course they could also be refering to drugs instead of love as the reason for their happiness ;-) | |

I agree with modernmeggie, to me the song refers to a recent break-up. I even think the other person broke up with the singer because she did something to hurt him, probably cheating. That's why she can't explain where she has been (with someone else). She did not plan for it, can't explain why she did it and knows it was not a very good thing to do, she should have known better. But instead of being sad because of the consequences she feels ok, even free. Maybe she realizes that the reason for her cheating was that she wasn't really happy in the relationship anyway. That is also why it wouldn't make sense to start all over again and fix it, especially because the other person doesn't seem to care so much about it either and shows "no reaction". Could be that they both had doubts before and now they can stop to pretend that it's working and admit to themselves that they just weren't "supposed to be". This honesty as a result of the cheating gives them freedom and feels good. |

Well I disagree with whee, I don't think this is a sad song! I rather believe it is about the time you begin to fall in love with someone, when everything is new and exciting, with this wonderful warm fuzzy feeling throughout your body. It doesn't relly matter what you are doing, or where you are meeting, as long as you just spend time together you are up in the sky anyway. You are in a rush of love, high because of you feelings. It makes you so happy just to look in the other person's eyes, that's why there is "nothing but the sky" = total happiness shining in them. |
