Pink Floyd – Hey You Lyrics 15 years ago
I have ALWAYS loved "when the tigers broke free" - and wish they had included them on the album.

Syd Barrett is who they (the above posters) are referring to. Roger Waters and David Gilmore wrote and performed The Wall.

I'm shocked no body has commented on this song......... this song is hauntingly beautiful. Is on steady replay on my iPod. And imagine my amazement when it was used on an episode of "Lie to Me" on Fox.

One of my all time favorites.....

I hadn't ever thought of it this way - but it does make sense. Definately one of my favorite songs.

Kid Rock – All Summer Long Lyrics 16 years ago
I grew up - and still live - on a lake in the mid-west. This song brings me instantly back to hot July weather - playing in the boat and soaking up the sunshine - listening to music louder than we probably should have! Any song that can instantly move you to another - happy - place in your life can't be all bad!

As far as the samples of Werewolves in London and Sweet Home Alabama - they were used with permission! And they were used, not because he can't write his own music - but because the whole point of the song is thinking back to those summers and the things he did - and the music that became a soundtrack to his life during that time....hell he even says "we were singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' all night long" it's not intended to be anything but a tribute to the songs of his youth. I know I have many songs, from many genre's, that are included on the soundtrack of my life - especially my teenage years!

Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is one of my all time favorite songs. There is just something about it that reaches into my very core....

As far as the meaning of the song - I have always been of the belief that songs mean different things to different people. And I think that is often what the artists are hoping will happen - that people will hear the music and take from it what that want or need to. Just let it speak to you - what you hear may be different than what I hear. And that's perfectly fine.

Fabulous song. Very Dark. Very Telling.

I agree 100% Waylon's voice is incredible.

Johnny Cash – The Highwayman Lyrics 16 years ago
Willie is the first Highwayman.....Kris was the sailor....Waylon worked at the damn....and Johnny was the Astronaut.

I'm a HUGE Cash fan - but my hands down favorite on this song is Waylon. His voice gives me chills - esp the part about "they buried me in that grey tomb that knows no sound"..... his voice is magnificant. I've never really followed much of Waylon's music - but love his voice.

Johnny Cash – Man in Black Lyrics 16 years ago
This was actually his way of "coming out" about his view of the Vietnam War. He kept very quiet about his views for a long time, and then released this song. He didn't say much after it, either...he said he assumed people would get his point.

It has nothing to do with Abortion - it's about young men being killed before their time.
