As i had said before when i posted on Kings And Queens. I love this band becuz everysong has multiple meanings. My interpretaion of this song is that if you truly appreciate this song you can ultimately accept that the song is about oneself (yourself). "What if I wanted to break Laugh it all off in your face What would you do What if I fell to the floor Couldn't take this anymore What would you do do do" Basically could mean that you want to break free and laugh off all your insecurites or flaws. And then the second part of that is like what if you lost everything and gave up. how would you respond to that feeling of utter loss and hopelessness. "Come break me down Bury me, bury me I am finished with you" Obviously could translate to giving up and tired of being a former person. Like starting over and being completely finished with the old you. "What if I wanted to fight Beg for the rest of my life What would you do (do do) You say you wanted more What are you waiting for I'm not running from you" Basically coould mean that your tired of running from the truth and that your ready to fight or beg rather than run. "Come break me down Bury me, bury me I am finished with you" "Look in my eyes You're killing me, killing me All I wanted was you" This could mean that your staring at your reflection and noticing that you're ultimately killing yourself. "I tried to be someone else But nothing seemed to change I know now this is who I really am inside Finally found myself Fighting for a chance I know now this is who I really am" Obviously if you follow my theory this would mean that you are ultimately accepting the fact that you are who you are. You will always be this person no matter how hard you try to be someone else. That is my personal interpretation of the song. and this is how it relates to me in every aspect. |

| isnt it "Vassals of ourselves"? in refrence to a knight of a feudal period. Either way i think this song is inspiratonal and i have to diagree with ps119 on somethings. While it does have christian meaning, i do not think that this song is completely intended as such. I believe that the children of a lesser god reference is saying maybe that we arent exactly "God's" (sorry bout the quotes im atheist) children but maybe we stem from somewhere else. idk for sure cuz i didnt right this. as for the "Father" it could just mean leader. But as it is everyone has their own interpretation and in a sense no one is wrong. We all have our own views and what we derive from certain source reflects our views. That is what i find so wonderful in music especially coming from this band. | |

| If you Truly love this song you can ultimately accept that its in some way about you. Or even more likely its telling you dont worry about what people think of you or if they take notice of you. thats what i think they mean by the lines "But She will Sing", and "And Still She Sings". Obviously you can deduct that its staing everyone gets whats coming to them and the title prtty much explains that itself. I didnt like the fact that the song was featured in the fantastic 4 but i do love how the video kinda pans out. | |

| I love this song! My personal opinion of this song is that it doesnt only apply to fame but people who have had a hard life. Which is why it states "you can try on my clothes but you cant fill these shoes". And im not sure but all other times i read these lyrics it says "you can take my life. But you cant take you with you" If those were the correct lyrics id have to say its staing that once you step foot into that particular area then there is no going back to the way you used to be. but im not sure if thats right or not so.... yeah. | |
