I think he is broken hearted about a girl who he has to be around because she's friends with the same people. I think he might have hooked up with a girl who no one would have expected him to. And he still always had feelings for her but she was carried away in her own life (popularity?) and he wasn't her "type" or something of that sort. It's a beautiful, beautiful song "While plastic arms carry you away And I know this never happened, We never happened, you never.." her fake friends she surrounds herself with and him knowing what they did, but also knowing he could never be with her, or she'd never be with him "it never happened we never happened" she's forgotten him, and he knows he shouldnt ever bring it up "i dont care about you now, your not alive" she screwed him over..im pretty sure. ha and i agree part of the song is verbally explaining the hookup, like what fox21oct1 stated.
