I don't watch skins, I just love aqualung. But I think this is more about a breakup. Not even a breakup. Growing apart. It's saying that he "needs to know" if the person he loves is letting go, and that he'll be okay if they are, but he just needs to know. Have you ever felt like that? Like, if the person would just TELL you what's going on that you would be alright. Well that's what I think this song is about. Maybe that's just me relating it to myself. |

I think this song is about being in love, and how the singer wants to be there for the person they love, and is basically saying the same thing as Eisley in "I could be there for you." |

I think this is clearly about parenting, but something goes wrong and the parents are blaming themselves. It might be that the son is gay, or maybe he joined the military or something and they're sad. I think that's it because of the "shaved hair" part, and the part about video games. Neither of these have much to do with being gay.
Then again, I can't imagine anyone being this upset about a child joining the military... |

This is clearly about a breakup, and the singer is trying to say that she has less pressure to take care of other people now that they have broken up. She is also hopeful that she will find someone new, hence the line "more to find"
I think it's a bit of a bitter song, like maybe she's only saying this to cheer herself up but she doesn't really mean it. |

I think it's about a dysfunctional family. The dad is an alcholic and the mom is unhappy and angry. He's just watching the whole thing, but he feels that the odds aren't in their favor. "One in ten can't save us from the sad statistic we've become." That's saying it's another statistic about divorced parents. |

I for one think it's about helping a friend with depression. I know the feeling, since I've helped my best friend through bad times a million times, and it always seems to bring me down. But I'd rather "learn to breath the ugliness she sees" then force her to go through it alone. When I heard this song I cried because it reminded me so much of her. If you are dealing with a depressed loved one it's hard. Listen to the song "The beacon" by A fine Frenzy... It'll make you cry too |

I think it's about depression or bipolar disorder. Some other songs with similar meanings are Nightminds by Missy Higgans, and The Beacon by A Fine Frenzy. But I love this song, it came up on my pandora and I'm in love! |
