Metathought.. I'm glad you started yelling the first time you heard this song. I didn't know about that song by the RHH, that's a good take on it. The highway/galaxy thing is pretty bad ass too. This song has always been a favorite, now I like it even more! |

Right on... Never thought of the 7 Habits as 7 Deadly Sins. I always took it as a reference to the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. But I like the twist. It's a nice double entendre. |

Easily one of the best songs Clutch has written. Lyrically simple, yet powerful storytelling. There's a good chance my Clutch tattoo will end up being Abe Lincoln because of this track... |

Airstreams tethered together like silver sleeping oxen (The 'Airsteams' i think He's referenceing are the Aluminum Recreational Trailers) All the best locations are located on the margins (Any drive on the interstate through the southwest will show how many people inhabit the barren outskirts of the desert in trailer houses, much like the aforementioned "Airstreams') Suited for telescoping the interstellar scene (Ever see the sky outside the city? so many stars... it's really breath taking) It's a mean killer in the daylight, but that's life for you and me (The desert sucks will the sun is up, but at night it gets amazing). (Obviously my frame of reference is the Southwestern Desert of the United States, but I'm sure it's similar no matter the landscape.) jchvoid, I definitely like the more metaphorical take on the first verse. Critique of federal agencies sucking up land that they feel entitled to or the global elite's lust to control everything on the planet sounds about right for Clutch. One of the many things that keeps me listening to them year after year! |
