| well this song is clearly about alcoholism, the first verse, says that he wants to be good and not drink, but he feels like he has to do it so he can feel happy, then the chorus says he is always drunk and knows thats not ok, the "coma" is the drunkenness and the never ending sleep in the sickness of alcoholism, and he knows that whenever he comes out of the "coma" and sober up, he will know that happiness was fake (someday i will wake up and realize i made up everything), the second verse describes his daily routine, he comes home from work and tries to get some sleep, but he cant, so he fills up a glass of gin on the rocks and drinks to feel happy and fall asleep, the chorus here is the same as the first one. The third verse says that he knows he could end everything, suicide, he says it several times, like he is really considering to kill himself, and recognizes that is his only exit from the addiction, the bridge are the last moments of his life in which he remembers the time when he was happy, and the he kills himself by alcohol poisoning, or by hanging himself... so sad, but so beautiful at the same time, great song | |
