When I first heard this song, I thought the line "and the cardinal hit the window" was "and the condor hit the window". I interpreted that as a rare endangered bird dying the same time this rare endangered girl died.
but then my thoughts were shattered when I read the lyrics =/ but I still think of it as condor. |

guys, I don't think it's that complex. I think it's about sex. she gives other men better sex than she gives him, and she could possibly be a prostitute (If food needed pleasing,You'd suck all the seasoning off). "If you think you know enough ,To know you know you've had enough". maybe he loved her but she just wanted sex, and sleeps with many other guys, breaking his heart. |
