Sounds like WhiteTide is fresh outa college. I guess the basic theme is just how most people will do anything for person gain, specifically human inventions (Christianity) that try to take advantage of you... "And I've seen through them all, seen through them all And seen through most everything" |

| Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Personal take... woke up with the power out, nothin really to shout about: a subtle change, like he alone is experiencing it. Ice on the parents hands: there becoming indifferent to him and his feelings, no plans or dreams: withdrawn from an ambitious life, just doesn't care. Then watching all the other kids having fun while you walk around in the darkness. Then the neighbors are claiming some superficial cure for everything, that he sees through, and stays in his room watching the shadows come into his room from afar. Nobody's cold or warm everyones just the same, there dying off and the way he puts it he doesn't sound too sad, there meaningless to him, just abunch of mindwashed innocent kids. Is it a dream? Is it a lie? I think of it as we have all this nice stuff these days and we're all civilized, trying to take away from the fact that were just animals with big brains, is a good thing that we have civilization or should we live like animals. Somethings wrong with our society today |
