| Avril Lavigne – What The Hell Lyrics | 15 years ago |

She said this was her "fun" song. Artists should be able to have a little sing-at-the-top-of-my-lungs time here and there. Actually, they should have as much of that as they want. |

Actually, the more I listen to this sing, the more of a difference I hear in the chorus. From what I'm imagining, I hear "Second doubt/soaking down your crime baby, crime baby." Anyone else? :x |

I think the song follows the title. She's killing a man, leading him on, "wanting it all." She pulls him back, only to leave, finally with his heart on her sleeve. What throws me off are the metaphors of "Seeing fire, it never burns" and etc. |

| All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'll skip the obvious ones, and quote the less obvious clues. "Remembering Sunday, he falls to his knees" Sunday is a holy day, and therefore is used as foreshadowing in the story. Now this place seems familiar to him She pulled on his hand with a devilish grin She led him upstairs She led him upstairs Left him dying to get in A few metaphors; Led him "upstairs," "Devilish grin," "Dying to get in." Just more clues to point you towards where the story is headed. Also, the story never quotes his one night stand; If anything, the last line "Left him dying to get in" suggests that they never engaged in any sexual activity at all. "The neighbors said she moved away Funny how it rained all day I didn't think much of it then But it's starting to all make sense Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds Are following me in my desperate endeavor To find my whoever, wherever she may be" This is the main character's great realization; He understands what has happened to his "desperate endeavor" without enlightening the reader to her fate. There are two clues here though which tie in with the next stanza; "Oh, I can now see... these clouds are following me" which alludes to the fact that "heaven" has been keeping watch over his futile attempts. The second clue is "How it rained all day," which I'll explain in my next paragraph. I'm not coming back (Forgive me) I've done something so terrible I'm terrified to speak (I'm not calling, I'm not calling) But you'd expect that from me I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt (You're driving me crazy) Now the rain is just washing you out of my hair In the previous stanza, it's also been raining all day. Thus, it can be argued that the girl's part in the song is in fact taking place at the same time of the main characters epiphany, and not beforehand. And out of my mind Keeping an eye on the world From so many thousands of feet off the ground I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, towering over your head All of these lines allude to being "way up there." I guess I'll go home now I guess I'll go home now I guess I'll go home now I guess I'll go home He... he gives up. :( Thus, using the evidence provided, you can conclude three things; One, using a metaphorical approach, she was an angel to begin with, as she's "now home in the clouds." It isn't home unless you've belonged there for a certain amount of time. The terrible thing is she almost dragged him to where she was, "leading him upstairs, dying to get in." Two, she straight up died. Three, if taken to another metaphorical level, she's simply moved away, and the song is a romanticized telling of how she'll get over him. |
