But the green is still close to green, my love And I believe we are the same And we'll stay like this, all gold and green" I'm in awe. I think that the green on the TV relates to their love. Like his lover is dying and everything is messed up and difficult, but the love is still there despite everything. Also I see a connection to Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay: "Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day Nothing gold can stay." They're both about death and impermanance, and obviouslt there's a connection with the colours. |
