I just gotta say that this song is sooo great..but yeah um i think the video has very little to do with the song now..i've seen video with people sing in empty pools, with elephants, clowns, or freaking flying rats, and make no sence to wat that song was about, they only did it cuz they wanted to..and of course this song was wrote b4 the viedo and the director found this is the best way to get close to the songs meaning..The video is just a story I believe the song is about a girl who's very depressed and is calling out to a friend for help..the friend is singing about it.(see how hard it is to make a music off of that) "I've got the key to the door But it just won't open" (she knows she depressed, she know somethings wrong, but she cant figure out how to get out of it, how to feel better) "I know Part of me says let it go Everything must h ave its season Round and round it goes And every day's a one before But this time this time" (aparently she can get over whats actually keeping her spirit down..she keeps thinking bout it, and she wants to let go of it and write it off as just another curve ball that life throws at you..yet she keeps going in acycle of depression, but this time around she really wants to get better and will do anything) "She said I need you to hold me I'm a little far from the shore And I'm afraid of sinking You're the only one knows me And who doesn't ignore That my soul is weeping" (she asking her friend to confort her, because shes losing herself[when your depress nothing seem to matter anymore] and se can tell thats happening, and shes afraid of being completly lost..Her friend is the only one that understands her and doesnt pretend that shes ok,like everyone else does) And Again thru out the song she askes her friend to help her out of the depressed world shes in b4 its too late and, bascily she will do/try anything to feel better again and find her way.. |

This is a anti-war protest song Coldplay made..I also think its a song about a man/solider telling the woman he loves what he went thru and is going thru during war..He consistly ask her if she loves him, but she never answers. Clearly I remember From the windows they were watching While we froze down below (the army he was with were spying on people (like how the U.S can tap in to our phones, or use gps to track us, but claim its for our safty)..but him being in the army couldnt do anything to stop it - - "When the future's architectured By a carnival of idiots on show" (chris said in a interview that this was about the Fox news line up with Bill o'reilly[now they got sarah palin on there]..he uses the word architectured, because alot of people seem to beLIEve and listen to every word that man says) - - "When the banks became cathedrals And a fog became God" (talking bout how Money became just as important if not more important than religion, the government is no longer doing things for religion or good morals but for Money..."fog became God"..they used religion as a cover for their bad doing..[like when ppl kill other ppl, the say God would want this] - - Priests clutched onto bibles [priest hold onto their bible tight when their about to pray] Hollowed out to fit their rifles[had to make theirself empty/feel nothing in order to keep on fighting] And the cross was held aloft [the cross/religious symbol was held up high] - - Bury me in honor When Im dead and hit the ground My love opposed that unfolds (im not quit sure bout his one..i believe hes tell her to bury him when he dies of course, and hes in the army now out of love for his counrty, and hatered of his enemy, yet if his love is looked a closely "unfold" its opposite in contrast to that) - - I dont want to be a soldier to the captain of some sinking ship Would stow far below" ( i believe hes talking bout the government as the sinking ship..he dont want to be the solider at the bottom of the ship being used "stow far below" - - If you loved me Why'd you let me go? He was drunk when he wrote this song and when your wasted you have a boost of confidence. I believe that Hes just trying to make sence of everything and explain his life to himself in 3rd person "i'm on the corner waiting for a light to come on thats when i know that you're alone" (hes in a dark place in his life and needs/waiting for a sign or way to come out of it he feels no-one is with him or feels what he feels) "it's cold in the desert water never sees the ground" (again "desert" is in the middle of nowhere..So he feels hes alone and cold...In the desert water is always wanted or need by people that are lost there, yet he says "it never see the ground".cud mean that he not getting the relief he desperately needs) "special unspoken without a sound" ( what he feels is special, yet he doesnt talk about it, probably because of social conditioning) -- -- "told me you love me, that i'd never die alone (cud be talking about a loved one, family member or friend, that told him that they wud always be by his side till the day he died) "hand over your heart let's go home" ( he made that person promise it (cross your heart- hope to die) or..at the end of the day ppl say "Lets go home" as in your finish with the day..metaphor.. lets bring this promise to a end/right now is when i need you to keep that promise) "everyone noticed everyone has seen the signs i've always been known to cross lines" ( talking bout his drinking problem and how everyone can see it.." i've been know to cross lines" hes giving a reason as to why his problem is so obvious and everyone can see) - - "i never ever cried when i was feeling down ive always been scared of the sound" ( again i think this is from social conditioning, he doent cry much cuz he doesnt know how to shameless-ly cry, or cuz if he did cry he scared of what his reaction mite be) "jesus don't love me no-one ever carried my load" (feels that he been thru sooo much and now hes in this very bad place in life,he feels that Jesus must dont love him if he put him thru all his troubles and woudnt let him feel so alone in life..."no one eva carried my load"..he feels that he been thru more that wat anyone can/will ever know and he recognize it...)
