* I'm pretty sure the second line is "always ASSURED, but I like it when we pretend" instead of show and also I think the ** is "love": "the love that you give is such a familiar sound" and also it's "when and how and WHERE you went wrong". * Personally I always thought this song was about songwriting, maybe the ghost is the part of him that writes songs, as in "ghost writer". I think the first verse is about his "ghost" being with the band; "you should be around they should just way when". The chorus says "I think he loves them the most" maybe meaning the band is perfect for his songwriting, and maybe the "always shows you when and how and where you went wrong" is that songwriters tend to write about bad times in their life. The second verse is generally about the song writing process, "see you all sitting around" kinda like a jam session. "fly straight up and come the fuck down" documents the temperamental nature of songwriting in general. |
