| personally I feel that this song is just about remembering anything special/magical that has happened to you, and being able to remember it, and happy because it was so beautiful :) which's why it suits narnia sooooo perfectly. :) but I can see why people got 'secret love' and really, as with any RS song, it seems pretty open to interpretation. :) | |

| that in the end if we're 'bible scoffers' and treat the idea of g-d like one big joke then when the serious stuff comes along, which is why people choose to have a faith, we'll essentially only be able to laugh WITH god at our own foolishness. that's what I get from this (AWESOME) song, but, I could be wrong :) | |

wow. just heard this and it's well..powerfull to say the least. I wonder how she has the courage to write songs like this? well good on her I say, sheela_I, the soap isn't made of human fat, it's a reference to the soap that the jews got at the extermination camps, they'd give them a haircut no.1. and then strip them and tell them to take a shower.thus the soap. g-d it's horribly thinking about this...but again good on regina for getting it talked about again. we should never stop caring about the holocaust. |

okay, i seem to be the only one who got this, but for me it was about the holocaust :s 'name a city after us and later say it's all our fault' 'we're living in a den of thieves rummaging for answers in the pages'-meaning the bible (OLD TESTEMENT!) I would consider it plausible that regina has read the new testament, but as a jew she would not believe in it, and thus is highly unlikely to quote it and use messages for it. 'we wear our scarves just like a noose but not cause we want eternal sleep' -sounds like a reference to jewish prayer shawls 'and though our parts are slightly used new ones are slave labor you can keep' -prisoners used for slave labour... I'm not saying this's what regina thought when she wrot eit, but it's what I feel/think about whilst listening to the song, and although some people say her song have 'no meaning', each of the interpretations people have offered here mean something to them, and in that sense her songs to hold great meaning :) |
