Kanye is saying that his wife Kim is closed on Sundays, just like Chick-Fil-A. She needs to get off of social media to worship and pray. Their children are in spiritual danger. Satan is a “viper” (Genesis 3), seeking the destruction of their daughters. His sons must not sleepwalk through the deadly temptations of life. Meanwhile Kim is closed to spiritual things, sour like lemonade. Jesus is King! He can lead them in The Way. A Christian should never be a slave of the culture. Kanye is determined to fight for his family, even if his wife Kim will not stand by his side. Christ is the supreme authority in his life. He is a Christian. Even so, he feels weak. God must strengthen his hands. Through prayer he will find the power to stand. He’s not “playin”, this is war and he has drawn the line. Jezebel is a woman in the Bible who led her husband to embrace idolatry. Kim, who is acting in similar ways, will not “quench the Spirit” in his life. Kanye sees 1 Cor. 7:15 about to take place in his marriage. It breaks his heart! The video ends with their daughter North West screaming Kim’s new name given in the song: Chick Fil A!!! Should Kim not open up and follow Christ, her children will be hurt most. What a powerful song! |

The song is about Morissette's relationship with Dave Coulier. Coulier was 15 years her senior and she was a minor when their relationship began. His advances were uninvited. The rule of society against romance between an adult and minor was treated by Coulier as "An unfortunate slight". In other words he disregarded the rules and pursued her anyway. Like anyone would be I am flattered by your fascination with me Like any hot-blooded woman I have simply wanted an object to crave Morisette is a young girl who wants to be loved. Coulier sought to fill that need. Must be strangely exciting To watch the stoic squirm Coulier took pleasure in watching a stoic Morissette squirm. To be able to conquer a mature yet emotionally undeveloped girl intrigued him. Must be somewhat heartening To watch shepherd meet shepherd Coulier being older shepherded her as a minor, but she ended up trying her best to take care of him. This show of love heartened Coulier. Like any uncharted territory I must seem greatly intriguing You speak of my love like You have experienced love like mine before Morissette was a virgin, uncharted territory. Yet Coulier acted like a pro, as if he had been with a minor before. I don't think you unworthy I need a moment to deliberate... As a minor Morissette knows the relationship is wrong, yet she is a warm blooded woman falling for an older man. She needs to think. After thinking about it, she jumped into the inappropriate relationship. This is why love, guilt, and intrigue are all a part of the song's ethos. |
