I agree with fairweatherfriend. I think this is about growing up. After I watched his music video, I actually started thinking the same. At first I was wondering why there were so many toys all over his room up to the point when he sang the part: To ten million fireflies I'm weird 'cause i hate goodbyes i got misty eyes as they said farewell but ill know where several are if my dreams get real bizarre 'cause i saved a few and i keep them in a jar So I got around to thinking it's dedicated to every one of us, who can't seem to let go a part of our childhood, because that was when we truly were alive, and then slowly, these rules started to build up as we grew old. Our toys had to be taken away, we had to act grown up, barely few of us have the imagination of a kid. So as not to forget our past childhood: but ill know where several are if my dreams get real bizarre 'cause i saved a few and i keep them in a jar we escape through our dreams and remember all the good stuff we went through back when there weren't so many rules. |
