| MGMT – I Found a Whistle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Somebody in his life did something to him, and now he wants to show them that he's happy without them but he still is angry at them for emotionally messing him up. He met somebody new who he cares about and is symbolized through the "whistle". The "whistle" in his life is the only dependable thing in his life. Everything in the world is changing around him, except for his "whistle". "Hey, I've got a pistol that's aimed at your heart"- this is him wanting to shoot the person who hurt him, he wants to hurt them back, because of what they did to him. "and on dark nights when the moon is right, I could show you the head attached with a scarf, aeroplane sorceress, at home obeying the fates" The Fates are the mythological three elderly women who would determine everybody's future. The first woman would spin thread (symbolizing somebody's birth), the second would weave the thread (symbolizing the person's life) , and the third would would cut the thread (ending the person's life). He is telling the person that he is going to show them a crazy woman (aeroplane sorceress) who never takes chances, she believes that her life is already set out for her, thus she obeys the Fates. He wants to show the person who hurt him the "aeroplace sorceress" because he wants them to realize that they ruined him, and he became paranoid about the world. He wants to show them that he became just like the "aeroplane sorceress" because of what they did to him, but now he's happy again because he met his "whistle". Sorry if that was confusing. |

This song is about how sometimes we don't feel like we were made normal. He feels like he's different from everybody, and he wants to belong, so he wants to go to a place with people like him who can understand him. We all get that feeling. We wish we were somewhere else doing great things, instead of on earth. Earth symbolizes society and the ground. He wants to be above everybody, and to think above other people. He wants to think "out of the box". That's what I think it is. |

| The White Stripes – We're Going to Be Friends Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This song is obviously about childhood, and like most of you have explained. But, it's also about never wanting to grow up. Everybody wishes they could stay a child forever, where we have innocence, we don't know about the outside world. We wish that we had no problems, to be care free, to be happy and burden free, to be children. That's what I felt the song was about. I cried while listening to this song at first, because it relates so much to me. I have a huge fear of growing up, and the white stripes have put my thoughts in a brilliant, yet simple, song. |

This was the first cocorosie song I've ever heard. I heard it on a video of Alex Pardee painting. I thought it was beautiful and chilling. I immediately searched for more songs. To this day, cocorosie is still my favorite artist. They're songs each are so meaningful and touching. You can relate to their lyrics. In each song, I feel like crying. They've changed my life. Simply beautiful. As to the meaning of the song: I thought it meant that a girl's father is abusive and schizophrenic. Her home life is filled with hate and violence. "Ride into the sunset. Look back with no remorse." She decides to leave and never look back. But, on her journey through life, she is haunted by images of her father and her childhood. I love this song. |

I always thought that It was about a shy boy, and he makes bad decisions. He gets into fights because he doesn't want people to pick on him anymore. His brother encourages him fighting. His mother wants it to stop but neither of her sons listens to her. One day, the boy gets into a nasty fight in front of the whole school and is killed. "Mama can't believe that nobody cares. It's her baby boy how do they dare" This shows what the mother was feeling. She can't believe that the kids don't care about her son, because he's her whole world. "Mama won't be making no birthday cake. It all went down one afternoon. In Brooklyn" She won't ever make his birthday cake again because he'll never get older. This all happened in Brooklyn. |

I thought this song was about childhood, like most of cocorosie's songs. I thought that "the colors" meant innocence. The color changing meant that the kid was growing up and his views change. I don't know, that's what I always thought it to be. |

I didn't mean to rate that. I meant to press the reply button. Anyways, I thought Bianca was gay. |

| I feel the same. I always feel like crying because I feel that the story behind the song is sad. | |
