I love this song (both lyrics and music) because they fit together so perfectly... the meaning of lyrics is quite obvious from the title, though I'd guess the angel is actually a metaphor for a person that was very dear to the artist, and one whom he considers to be an angel. the thing about this song is that it's so amazingly expressive and very descriptive.. just by reading the lyrics, you can already see what they depict, and music itself only emphasizes the emotions. you can almost feel the coldness of the air and desperation that surround it. my favorite verse is the last one because I find it to be the most expressive. it feels as if everything around is attuned to the great sadness and loss, even the nature itself, though the reason for that is probably the fact that it's winter and it's cold and that's why there are no birds around to sing and other natural noises.. but in that moment, to the artist, it feels as if the whole world stopped. truly a musical masterpiece and one of my favorite songs (and lyrics) of all time. |

I think this must be one of my all time favorite lyrical verses I've read. it's quite a pleasure to read Agathodaimon's lyrics because they're not just good lyrics, they could pass for poetry as well, and this is a mighty example of that. simply beautiful. |
