When I listen to this I laways think that the "Pay to play" bit sounds like South Parks mickey take of Jonas Brothers in "The Ring" episode singing "BAY-BAY". lol Excellent song though and a great example of what I love about Nirvana. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one..... it is a great song but it always creeps me out. Though I haven't seen it sung with a sneer or any bile (Oasis could have done a good cover lol). It always imagine the song to be similar too "every Breath You Take" (Police) in attitude. |

A parody of a parody song where will it all end.... Great song and slightly slower than Tom Lehrers Elements song (barely) so I can just about keep up with them. |

The thing I can't believe about this song is it is so famous literally every body at my school "that London Underground thing that swears loads" but so few can name another song by AmTran. If anyone here likes this but hasn't lsitened too anything else by them DO IT they're brilliantly funny. Plus they just brought out a new live allbum with a load of new songs on (the live london underground is immense) |

I have to admit I am probably amon the (many) people who first found Kaye Miccuci on Scrubs. I got a few of her songs then found G and O and I have to say I love this song. It is easy to look over their "slower" songs but this is so beautiful. |

| Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out Lyrics
|
On the "Greatest Song of the Noughties"(E4) (Take Me Out came a shockingly lowly 16) Alex Kapranos stated he was 'watching a movie where two snipers were trying to kill each other. They were in hide-outs opposite each otherwaiting for the other one to make a move and this seemed like a good metaphor for the way people interect with each other, not wanting to give away their emotions and sometimes you justw ant to give away your position and say "Oh go on! Take me Out!!! Just end it I'd rather that than continue the tension".
In addition the account of Franz Ferdinands death by Joachim Remak (called Sarajevo) says that the aRch-dukes last words were "It is nothing" in responce to Count Harrach asking him if he was suffering after being shot in the neck (unless he was the Black Knight from Monty Python a redundant question). |
