the night is over but the feelings and memories haven't left. She still remembers how it all felt what the night had brought them. she know's that they will see eachother soon but she doesn't know in what way. she is wanting so bad for it to be like it once was to be led back to the boy. "lead me home, back to him, bring me back to him" she is prying because she remembers those nights. she remembers how it felt to be entwined and she cant help but say "oh G-d I wish you were mine" she wants to find her way back to her love. back to the boy she was entwined ith. back to the boy she walked along bridges and underneath the moonlight with. She is praying for life to bring them back to the place they once was. Maybe they are not far physically, but it is someting else keeping them apart. we have memories we love to look back on, but we can never go back to. this boy is in between a memory and a place she can return to. she would if she could only find the way. she's singing hoping he's more than a memory. one. left to look back on. hoping she's like those night skys that never felt like they ever left. (this is all what I take from it, only the writer truly knows what it is about) a very beautiful song. |

no. its a girl he has a relationship with. or has in the past. he's talking to her. asking her to please be the one to come to him. he doesn't know the answers, he doesn't know the future, he doesn't know what will happen "tonight let's not talk about next summer" but he wants her. its a selfish song. he's worn out. all that has gone on. tonight he cant promise anything, but tonight he wants to be her lover. "tonight i will love you forever" he knows it won't last. but he wants her anyways. if only to comfort his exhaustion. "won't you run to me tonight" its selfish. but in a sacraficial humbled way. |
