| God, I love this song! Its the first Coheed song I listened to, except for A Favor House Atlantic, which I heard all the time when I was younger. I still love this song, after 5 years. I just love the whole "back porch lady" imagery in my head. I also love the chords, its a very... Almost Sixteen Candles feeling for me, but as well its a very modern feeling. No World for Tomorrow may not be as ground breaking as their previous artists, but that's not a fault of a No World for Tomorrow, its a fault of SSTB, IKSOSE, and GP of being unable to be followed by anything. | |

So you wrote that comment like 3 years ago but I still feel compelled to say I disagree. :P Here's the meaning I see: It's a coming of age song, its about deciding who you want to be when you enter into the world. Your time of sitting back and doing nothing has ended, its time to take charge of your life, and be who you are set out to be. I'm not sure the lyrics are palid silvered sky (are they confirmed?) I hear "balance libertine" (I have all 3 cds, and 30stm lists none of their lyrics >.<) as stated, the Greek Pantheon was a religious temple, and a meeting place of sorts. So I think they're saying come join the rest of the world, but don't lose yourself in it. People are searching for something to fulfill them, they try different ways, and some have luck in finding fulfillment while some don't. Welcome to the Universe. A welcoming of sorts. The universe not to be taken literally as space, but more of society as a whole; all its different communities and sects. Great song <3 |
